Uneven Skin Tone?

Uneven skin tone or hyperpigmentation usually occurs due to an excessive production of melanin. The reasons for the increased production of melanin may be various – too much sun exposure, hormonal changes or impaired skin integrity. Also, sometimes it can be caused due to our body‘s aging process. Here are some natural remedies that will come to your aid.

Papaya & Malai mask

 

Papaya is a great source for skin lightening and removing blemishes while acting as an exfoliator and getting rid of all the dead cells. Malai, on the other hand, acts as a moisturiser, softens your skin and leaves it with that added glow. Mash some fresh papaya along with some malai and apply this mask for healthy luminous skin.

 

Milk powder mask

 

The bleaching agents in milk help in reducing a tan hence making your skin tone even. Take some milk powder in a bowl along with some fresh milk and make a thick paste. Apply this paste on your face and neck. Rinse with lukewarm water.

 

Yoghurt mask

Yoghurt also contains natural bleaching agents like milk. It not only exfoliates the skin but also helps to improve skin tone and eliminate uneven pigmentation and scarring. A simple yoghurt mask can be applied on your face several times a week for improved skin tone.

 

Tomato puree face mask

Tomatoes can help balance the pH of your skin and make it look a lot firmer. They contain vitamin A, vitamin C and lycopene which works as an excellent antioxidant. Apply some tomato puree to your face and you'll see a remarkable change in the skin complexion.

 

Lemon Juice & Honey face mask

Citric acid, which is available in lemons is a natural remedy against excessive pigmentation of the skin. Also, lemons contain a rich amount of vitamin C which is amazing for the skin. Honey helps to exfoliate, moisturise and makes your skin soft and radiant. Be sure to completely wash off this mask before stepping into the sunlight.

  • Apply sunscreen daily - The sun is one of the main factors for uneven skin coloration. The damage from sun exposure and the harmful rays of the sun leads to uneven skin tone. . Use a high-quality product with at least SPF 30 and above before going out in the sun for preventing further damage due to sun exposure.
  • Drink plenty of water - Drinking enough waterdaily is important for your skincare skin appearance since the skin is made of 75% water. You need a minimum of 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. This will improve your skin tone drastically.
  • Eat food rich in Vitamin C like strawberries, guava, kiwis, bell peppers, oranges, lemons
  • Stay away from foods that can cause uneven skin coloration like processed foods, carbonated drinks, alcohol and caffeine.
